AVAFLO D is used in men with BPH where combination treatment is appropriate. Treatment may help with:
Two actions. One BPH treatment.
RELAX + REDUCE
What makes AVAFLO D different is its dual-action mechanism.
Tamsulosin — RELAX
Tamsulosin is an alpha-1 blocker. It relaxes smooth muscle around the prostate and bladder neck, reducing resistance to urine flow and helping relieve bothersome urinary symptoms.
Dutasteride — REDUCE
Dutasteride inhibits the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone involved in prostate growth. Lowering DHT can gradually reduce prostate volume and help reduce the risk of BPH progression.
Together, the two components approach BPH from complementary directions:
Tamsulosin helps improve the flow.
Dutasteride addresses the enlarged prostate.
More than symptom relief
Some BPH treatments primarily improve symptoms. AVAFLO D combines symptom control with treatment directed at prostate enlargement itself.
Fewer nighttime interruptions
Better control of urinary symptoms may mean fewer trips to the bathroom during the night.
Better urinary flow
Relaxing smooth muscle around the prostate and bladder neck can make it easier for urine to pass.
Long-term prostate management
By reducing DHT, dutasteride targets an important driver of prostate growth and can reduce prostate volume over time.
